POSTAGE OF RADIOS Carriers will not insure items containing glass, and radios come under this category. Unfortunately, even if compensation were available, money can never replace your treasured radio that I have repaired for you or a radio that I have spent many hours restoring. If an antique radio has its dial glass broken during transit, the radio become worthless. So, what's the alternative? If you're buying a restored radio from me, or you need your radio repairing, the best option is to visit me. This has several advantages. Firstly, you can actually see and hear the radio you want to buy or have had repaired. Secondly, you can look at the other radios I have on display, giving you a choice of types and prices. IF YOU HAVE NO CHOICE OTHER THAN POST OR CARRIER... If you have to use the post or a carrier, then please be sure to pack your radio well. It's best to pack the radio in a box, with plenty of bubble wrap or cushioning material such as polystyrene beads around the radio, and then place that box inside another box with more of the same cushioning packing between the two boxes. IMPORTANT! The radio must NOT be tightly packed. It needs to have some movement within the bubble wrap, which acts as a cushion against knocks. Make sure that the mains plug, if fitted, is packed in a bag of bubble wrap and is nowhere near the dial glass. ADDRESS LABEL
