I believe that vintage radios should be affordable, as you will see from the prices below. What I can't abide are the crazy prices some people are charging for repair work and restored radios. Circa 1949, this Marconi radio covers the long, medium and short wave bands. But, being an upmarket set, it also has three preset positions on the wave change switch. So there's long, medium, short - plus, one, two, three. For example, there's no need to tune into BBC Radio 4 on long wave, you simply switch to that preset position. The other two positions are set to Virgin Radio and Capital Gold. You can, of course, tune around the long, medium and short wave bands as with any other radio. I like everything about this radio. Circa 1949, this Ekco radio is interesting and collectable inasmuch as it has no tuning control or dial. It looks more like an extension speaker than a radio. However, it's a wonderful radio which covers the long and medium wave bands. There are four pre-set, switched stations - three medium wave and one long wave. The cabinet on this DAC90A is in excellent condition. In fact, this is an outstanding example of this early fifties Bush radio. This one has the later control knobs, which I find rather attractive. The radio has been fully restored to my usual high standard and I've also fitted my special bright dial light transformer which gives the dial a beautifully warm glow, see HERE. You won't see another DAC90A with a dial glowing like this one. I don't suppose you'll see another fully restored Bush DAC90A with a five year guarantee. BUSH TR82D TRANSISTOR RADIO Covering long and medium wave, this is a lovely Bush TR82D transistor radio was launched in 1959. In great working order, this classic Bush is a must for your collection. I don't collect transistor radios, that's why this one is for sale. There is a small chip in the back cover and a blemish on the covering fabric. Pye Black Box This is the transistor version of the famous Pye Black Box record player. There was also a valve version. I've given the Black Box a once over, cleaned the pots, re-soldered a couple of dry joints on the amplifier PCB and lubricated the motor bearings etc, and it's working fine. But it does need a new stylus. There are some scratches on the cabinet. I'm not into record players and I'm short of space so I'm open to... Marconi T25DA This valve radio, circa 1948, has been fully restored. All it needs is a new mains lead as it's illegal to sell electrical equipment with the old wiring colours. I am waiting for a new drum of mains lead to arrive. Covering the long and medium wave bands, the Marconi T25DA is a small table radio of the art deco type popular in the forties and fifties.
