WANT TO SELL YOUR OLD RADIO?

I can't restore vintage radios if I haven't got any, so I do buy old radios from time to time. If you have an old valve radio, working or not, which you'd like to sell, or donate, to a good home, please email me. Here are the rules... I won't rip you off by offering you a few pounds for a radio which is worth a small fortune. You won't sell me a radio which you describe as being complete - and yet there's nothing inside the cabinet.

I have recently sold three radios to a museum, at minimal cost, and I'm hoping to create my own museum. I'm short of space and don't like having to sell my radios so my aim is to convert the dining room into a radio museum. The trouble is, my wife isn't terribly impressed by the idea. Let's just say that I'm working on it. When I'm dead and gone, I'd like others to have the opportunity to enjoy my restored radios so maybe I should turn my whole house into a museum.

If you're hoping to cash-in by selling your vintage radio, don't bother to contact me. If your radio has been in the family for several decades and you want it to go to a good home, please email me. I'm old-fashioned and I believe that honesty pays. I'm not rich, but I'll offer you a fair price for your radio. Having said that, the postage costs may price the radio out of my reach. I might be willing to give you £20 for your radio but, add £15 postage on top, taking the price to £35, and I'll have to say no. By the way, I do try to steer clear of radios with plastic cabinets. Bakelite is fine but I prefer wood. Having said that, even an old plastic radio might contain useful valves so do contact me if you have one for sale.

I'm always after valves and other bits and pieces for old radios so have a rummage around in the attic.
