The Paraset Spy Radio Transceiver

I’m about to embark on building the Paraset Radio. The kit of parts will be arriving next week. There will be plenty of photos. It’s going to be a lengthy project but it will keep me busy during the dark winter evenings. By the way, the name Paraset is derived from Parachute Set.

The unit is a low-power valve CW transceiver developed in Great Britain during the early part of World War II. The set is known as the Whaddon Mark VII. Or as the MK7 by MI6.

It was used for clandestine communications mainly in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. It was the preferred radio used by agents in 1941-1942.

More, lots more, coming soon…
