I’m trying to get local amateurs interested in an HF AM net on 40 metres. The AM frequency appears to be 7143kHz for the UK. I’ll be monitoring the frequency when I can so give me a shout. Apart from me, there are a couple of lads sorting aerials etc ready to join in.
I do realise that 80 metres or top band might be better for local working but the noise level for many of us prohibits use of those bands.
I might use the Clansman RT-320 but, on AM, it only kicks out 7.5 Watts. In the old days, before all this dreadful interference, that would have been more than enough power to be heard all over the UK.
