The Ever Ready Model CA battery radio
The Ever Ready Model C/A uses miniature B7G valves and is battery operated. Covering long and medium wave, this radio was one of the first truly portable radios. Batteries are no longer available but the radio can be run from a suitable mains power supply. I don’t work on the battery models for several reasons, not least because of the difficulty in obtaining and cost of the miniature valves. Also, the valve heaters or filaments have a nasty habit of becoming open circuit. Having said that, the Ever Ready CA is a popular model with collectors.
