Butlin’s Bognor holiday…

We had floods and brilliant sunny weather in the same week! Below left, the entrance to the big tents. Centre, the great flood. Right, view of the huge tents. This relates to the podcast, Timeline Britain plus Bognor Butlin’s. Published 20/7/24.

Below left, bowling, I won! Centre, inside the big tent. Right, view from our lounge window.

A trip to Pulborough Brooks…

What a lovely place! It’s only 12 miles north of us so very easy to get to. Below you can see the pond which has newts, frogs and lots of other life. The clouds looked rather ominous! There’s the Highland Cow watching me. Tricia outside the hut and then an inside view. I’d love to live there! Finally, the cafe. Visit their website here. This relates to the podcast, A Visit to Pulborough Brooks. Published 7/6/24.

By popular request, our garden:

Here are a view photos of our back garden. One of me hiding in my favourite place. Our sheds are hidden behind the fig tree.

Quarr Abbey, Isle of Wight. May 2024:

The Abbey of Our Lady of Quarr is a monastery on the Isle of Wight. It’s home to a small group of Benedictine monks who dedicate their lives God. There’s a shop which sells an amazing choice of chutney, jam, marmalade, beer, wine, spirits… It’s well worth a visit! This relates to the podcast, Ray’s Roaming Rants, Isle Of Wight Holiday May 2024.

Mottistone Manor and Gardens, Isle of Wight. May 2024:

This is Mottistone Manor and Gardens. First mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, the manor as it stands today was created during the 15th and 16th centuries. The surrounding gardens were initially created in the 1960s. This relates to the podcast, Ray’s Roaming Rants, Isle Of Wight Holiday May 2024.

PLUTO – Pipe line under the ocean:

This is a photo of part of the pipeline at Shanklin Chine called PLUTO. It used to run from the Isle of Wight to France, supplying petrol to our troops during WWII.
