Bush DAC41

Bush DAC41Unlike most vintage radios in my collection, the Bush DAC41 doesn’t have it’s own frame aerial. There is, of course, an aerial socket on the rear of the radio.

The set is AC/DC and has long, medium and short wave bands. I must say that, although not one of the most expensive radios of its time, it’s certainly one of my favourites.

Bush DAC34

Bush DAC34This is a lovely radio and it really does look and sound nice. The speaker is large and the bass response is quite amazing and very pleasant to listen to. I like this particular model because it’s easy to work on with plenty of room beneath the chassis.

Bush DAC10

bush-dac10-01The Bush DAC10 radio was introduced in 1950. It uses a chassis very similar to the DAC90A, but the DAC10 has push button pre-set station tuning as well as manual tuning. There are two pre-set buttons for medium wave and one for long wave. I specialise in repairs, servicing and restoration of Bush DAC10 valve radios so, if you own one of these lovely radios, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Bush AC2

bush-ac2-07This radio was in a hell of a state when I retrieved it from a friend’s garage. It was damp and the veneer had lifted, the varnish felt like sandpaper to the touch and the radio didn’t work and had some dreadful faults. But it was manufactured in 1947 and I just had to restore it to its former beauty. So far, it’s taken me tens of hours, but the end result will be worth it. Do I want to sell it? No way! The radio is now finished, and it’s beautiful.

Bush AC1

bush-ac1This radio is quite rare. It’s uses a modified Bush AC91 chassis and covers short wave as well as long and medium wave. If you know the DAC90 or AC91, you’ll recall that the tuning knob is on the right hand side of the cabinet. That’s the case with this radio, leaving just two control knobs looking rather lonely on the front. It’s a lovely old radio with a decent size speaker. Perhaps a little too large for smaller rooms.
